With organization comes rules, and in the case of one channel, admins that take thier role a little too diligently. But within a few short weeks, people settled on a way to advertise games, build teams, and task teams with specific in-mission elements. Dranuur Colony's invasion simulation by its very nature is a pain in the **** to organize. So with any new chat channel set up for a specific event, there will be growing pains as players work out the 'rules' of engagement. When does this happen: Saturday, January 27th 2018 at 10:00am PST, 1:00pm PST, and the final drawing at 7:00pm PST Why? It's my way of saying thanks to the players who created fedsim and kdfsim I don't want to try and convince you to use melee or that it's even optimal, just why I use it, and why someone else might find it fun as well.I'm giving away 750 million worth of ships, gear and EC to help drive awareness of 2 channels in the game. It's especially useful for putting down those Voth engineers quickly at the omega particle silos. I'm finding that if something's already close-up, I can hack it apart about as quickly as I can blast it with my minigun. It's a bit of fun depending on who you are, and if you don't like melee that's fine. Of course it's not Mount & Blade: Warband, not by a long shot, but melee's only one part of the formula here. Opinions differ person by person, but melee here is actually why I still bother. Shooter mode and at least a combo to play with, though, kind of sets it apart from other tab-target auto-attack MMOs. Melee's situational and a bit of fun to dive into. I've carried my sword into elite queues and it's workable without hypos, but not by itself. I've only said there's a combo, one combo, and it works well with an expose set up. Of course there's not "dozens" of combos here, not anywhere close to it, nor is it by any means the best melee system in a game. "Any officer who goes into action without his sword is improperly dressed." -Jack Churchillįrom Mount & Blade: Warband here. And, of course, swords are completely unaffected by Delegated Devastation, allowing you to strike foes down without impediment while your team reaps a substantial damage boost. Melee may not be completely optimal to charge in from any range or in any situation, but the potential spike damage means you can keep a sword at your side and partake in some close combat should the opportunity arise without necessarily being a burden. Especially gratifying when used in tandem with a bridge officer's Lunge attack, resulting in vaporizing drop kicks. And, of course, the expose chance is pretty helpful in ranged combat as well since it lets you or a teammate land what is effectively a forced crit with an exploit attack. If you get a xindi kit with expose chance off the exchange and the lucky trait together then you can, with a sword type melee weapon such as the falchion or nausicaan tegolar sword, fairly reliably expose with the first two hits of a combo and then exploit with the third and final hit, dealing some strong damage right through shields.
